About Brahma Chetana Parishad
Founded in 1986, Brahma Chetana Parishad is marching ahead to fulfill its long-cherished dreams unfailingly and unflinchingly. It is leaving no stone unturned to serve the people, who are downtrodden, poverty-stricken, hopeless, and helpless. It has been rendering selfless service to see glittering glance in the face of ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed, ill-nourished, illiterate & ill. It zealously exposes the cause of spiritualism and religiously advocates a sense of patriotism and universal brotherhood. It devotes all its time and energy to the service of society as a whole irrespective of caste, creed, color sect, and religion. It always shares well & woe with the people victimized by floods, drought, cyclone and other natural calamities. Brahma Chetana Parishad inculcates strong faith in the minds of such people who come in its contact that - “Benevolence leads to heavenly abode”. It fervently believes in the Five ‘S’ – Selfless service, Sacrifice, Social Responsibility, Steadfast devotion, and Sympathetic to all leaving bings.
Event leading to establishment of Brahma Chetana Parishad
One of the founding members of Brahma Chetana Parishad had one day waited for the bus at Vanivihar Square in Bhubaneswar. At that time four to five hotels were doing business adjoining to the road. A boy believed to be at the age of twelve was asking one of the hotel owners to pay him something for his ensuing sacred thread ceremony. The Hotel man was busy in calculation and paid no heed in the boy’s request. After some times he went inside. The eye witness thought the hotelier would pay the boy satisfactorily. But to his surprise he brought a stick and beat the boy black and blue. This painstaking event put great impact in the mind of young founding member who was in his twenties. At this very moment the youngster vowed to form a formidable organisation in the state enlisting support of good men and women to serve the poor and needy in the spirit of altruism. The pledge of the young man was realized when the said organisation came into existence with the support of his late high school headmaster and some other like minded people on the first Sunday of July, 1986.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To integrate and organize Indian Vedic Society by creating Brahma Chetana in the hearts of all men and women.
- To protect and preserve ancient vedic tradition & culture discarding blind belifs, superstition and all sorts of violence.
- To offer sacread thrown to poor Brahmin boys and girls of families tottering below the poverty line.
- To construct oldage home for the aged who are neglected in their families.
- To rehabitate widow, orphans, destitutes and handicap as far as possible.
- To serve the poor in the times of need.
- To distribute food, clothing and medicines to the disaster affected people.
- To show kindness to all types of animals and create awareness against cruelty to animals.
- To create nationwide public awareness in support of small family norms.
- To launch plantation drive for protection of nature and environment.
- To arrange annual vedic fire for world peace & tranquility.
- To reorganize Bhagavat Tungi in bringing out change in rural life
- To encourage setting up library in each village and town to instill reading habit in the mind of people.
- To give importance on good character building Gurukul education.
- To save old age culture from further degradation.
Achievements made by Brahma Chetana Parishad during the three decades of Journey
(i) Sacred threads to nearly five hundred ninety six poor Brahmin boys.
(ii) Marriage Ceremony have been arranged nearly one hundred poor girls.
(iii) Viswa Santi Jagyn & Bhagavat parayan organize on annual basis.
(iv) Water distribution centre are opened in each summer season at different pockets of the state.
(v) Old age home was opened for two years serving seven old men and old women.
(vi) Relief measures were undertaken flood and cyclone times in Odisha.

6. Working Committee : (i) Central working Committee at the state level

7. Duration of Committee : Election in 5 years
8. Office bearers : Working Committee will be consisting of a President, a Working President, a Senior Vice Pricedent, a Vice President, a Secretary, assistant Secretary, a Chashier and Other Members. [12 members to maximum thirty members.]
9. Source of Finance : Member fees plus donation from good men and women living in the world. Actually thirty five members are contributing to the organisation for its year to year annul programmes.
General member fee: Rs. 100/-(One Hundred only)
Life long member fee: Rs. 1001/- (One thousand one only)
10. Qualification for membership : (i) Should be an Indian citizen
(ii) Should be desire to serve to the poor and destitute.
(iii) Should have interest to obey the rules and regulation of the society.
11. Disqualification form Membership : (i) By oppositing byelaw.
(ii) remain absent from metting in three consecutive terms without valid reason.
(iii) By doing work against the organisation and the country
